Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as a DSP by the Telangana Government. On Friday, the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) officially presented him with the appointment letter. Previously, boxer Nikhat Zareen, a two-time world champion, was also appointed as a DSP.

The Telangana government announced Mohammed Siraj’s appointment as DSP. After India’s T20 World Cup win this year, Chief Minister A. Rivanth Reddy directed officials to offer Siraj a government job and allot him a plot of land.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Siraj played three matches for India, taking one wicket in the game against Ireland. He conceded 25 runs against the USA and 19 runs against Pakistan.
