Jaipur Discom: In Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur, a process has been started to make electricity services even more accessible to electricity consumers through the app. Under this, Jaipur Discom management will resolve electricity-related complaints from home. More than 10 lakh people from both circles of the city will get the benefit of this. For this, the Discom management has provided a WhatsApp message facility to the consumers. Under this, the management will listen to electricity-related problems like power outages, meters getting damaged or burnt, meter replacements, and errors in electricity bills. And will take action on it. People have continuously benefited from this new facility for the last two months. So far, more than 20 thousand consumers have been relieved from this.
How to Access This Facility
Jaipur Discom management has provided the mobile number 9414037085 to make yourself available for this facility. Consumers can use this number for WhatsApp and text message communication to report electricity-related issues. The superintending engineer-level electricity department staff will then address these complaints and work towards their resolution. This initiative is being piloted, and a weekly report detailing the status of registered complaints will be submitted to the higher officials of Discom for evaluation.
How the New System Works
According to the engineers at Discom, when a complaint about a power outage or a burning meter is received via the designated WhatsApp number, it is promptly forwarded to the First Response Time (FRT) team in the field. This team then relays the information to the Assistant Engineer responsible for the area, who takes the necessary actions to resolve the issue. The concerned engineers will also reach out to the consumer to ensure that their complaint is addressed effectively.
